Women Gathering Together: Navigating the New Year with Nuanced Self Attunement

A new start for the new year!

Women, come gather in a small group - we are inspired to explore self attunement with you from an NVC and somatic embodiment approach. Let’s jump start 2026!

Join Lisa Gottlieb, MSW, Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication, and co-founder of Great Lakes NVC, and Melissa Butler, MS, LLP, owner of Embodied Awareness for an experiential and interactive 3 week Zoom course for women that delves into the foundations of NVC and the elegant work of embodiment to build self connection, increase self understanding, and find more comfort in setting boundaries. Start the new year with support and encouragement from other women to be your full self in our small and engaged Zoom community and out in the world.

Come away from each meeting with practical tools and pro-tips that you can use right away to boost your self-connection and self-acceptance, and build confidence in being your full, authentic self.

How it works

We will meet on Zoom for 3 consecutive Mondays.

The gatherings will be recorded in case you miss one. Recordings will be available on a private YouTube channel for two weeks following the course completion. You have the option of requesting that the recording pause if you are uncomfortable being recorded when speaking, and we will use the chat function to share privately.

By registering you commit to following the Agreements for Multicultural Interactions

  • Try It On: Be willing to “try on” new ideas, or ways of doing things that might not be what you prefer or are familiar with.
  • Practice Self Focus: Attend to and speak about your own experiences and responses. Do not speak for a whole group or express assumptions about the experience of others.
  • Understand The Difference Between Intent & Impact: Try to understand and acknowledge impact. Denying the impact of something said by focusing on intent is often more destructive than the initial interaction.
  • Practice “Both / And”: When speaking, substitute “and” for “but.” This practice acknowledges and honors multiple realities.
  • Refrain From Blaming Or Shaming Self & Others: Practice giving skillful feedback by naming what you resonate with and what you would like more of.
  • Move Up / Move Back: Encourage full participation by all present. Take note of who is speaking and who is not. If you tend to speak often, consider “moving back” and vice versa.
  • Practice Mindful Listening: Try to avoid planning what you’ll say as you listen to others. Be willing to be surprised, to learn something new. Listen with your whole self.
  • Confidentiality: Take home learnings, but don’t identify anyone other than yourself, now or later. If you want to follow up with anyone regarding something they said during a session, ask first and respect their wishes.
  • Right To Pass: You can say “I pass” if you don’t wish to speak.
